Product Safety
In short: every safety fact on a listing comes from the supplier's sheet, and Homuvo tests nothing itself.
Chests, bookcases, and TV stands must be anchored to the wall before use.
Countertop appliances are built for a 120-volt United States outlet.
The kids' activity table is for ages 3 to 8 and is a children's product under federal law.
A safety problem goes to the help desk and to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Zero claims beyond the supplier's sheet
Homuvo makes none of the goods and runs no test on them. The specification table, the weight rating, the warning label, and the assembly instructions on each listing are copied from the supplier's sheet and the supplier's manual, and this page passes on what those documents say for each kind of item. Where the supplier has given Homuvo a certificate or a test report, the help desk sends a copy by email on request. Where the supplier has not, the help desk says so instead of guessing, and the Disclaimer sets out the limits that follow.
Two anchors on every chest and bookcase
The 4-Drawer Chest ships with an anti-tip kit, and the kit must be fitted to the wall before the drawers are loaded. The 5-Shelf Bookcase with Doors, the 5-Drawer Fabric Dresser, the Open-Shelf TV Stand, and the Nightstand with Drawer stand taller than they are deep and belong on an anchor too, with a kit from a hardware store where the carton has none. A chest that is not anchored can tip when a child climbs the open drawers; the Consumer Product Safety Commission's Anchor It campaign at anchorit.gov explains the risk and shows the fitting. Clothing storage units sold in the United States are covered by the STURDY Act's stability standard, and Homuvo passes on the supplier's compliance statement for the chest on request, without adding a claim of its own.
Five appliances on a 120-volt outlet
The Countertop Bullet Ice Maker, the Countertop Toaster Oven, the Retro Countertop Microwave, the Countertop Microwave with Auto Defrost, and the Compact Refrigerator are built for a standard United States household outlet; the listings say 120 volts, and 115 volts for the refrigerator, both the ordinary household supply. Plug each one straight into a grounded wall outlet, not an extension cord or a power strip, and leave the clearance the manual asks for around the vents. The toaster oven draws 1,500 watts and the larger microwave 1,000 watts, so two of them on one kitchen circuit can trip the breaker. Each appliance ships with the supplier's manual, and the manual's instructions come before anything on this page.
Three to eight as the ages on the kids' table
The Kids Folding Activity Table with Benches is sold for children aged 3 to 8, seats four, and counts as a children's product under federal law, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act. The listing carries the warning label the supplier prints for it. Homuvo asks the supplier for the Children's Product Certificate and the test report behind it and sends copies by email on request. A folding table has hinge and pinch points; an adult unfolds it, locks the legs, and checks the lock before children sit at it. It is not a climbing frame and not a step.
Six hundred pounds on the futon, and a rating on every seat
The Split-Back Convertible Futon is rated for 600 pounds across its 66 inches, the Bouclé Armless Desk Chair for 275 pounds, and each bed frame, stool, and chair for the weight on its listing. A rating is for people sitting or lying still; standing on a seat, jumping on a bed frame, or rolling a desk chair at speed puts more on the frame than the rating allows. The Folding Steel Platform Bed Frame and the Upholstered Platform Bed need no box spring, and adding one raises the mattress above the headboard and the frame's design height.
Four folding chairs and a tempered-glass top
The Patio Dining Set has a tempered-glass table top. Tempered glass is stronger than plain glass and breaks into small, blunt pieces rather than shards, but it can still break from a sharp knock on its edge or from a sudden temperature change, such as a hot pan set on a cold top. Lift the table to move it rather than dragging it; bring the set under cover in high wind, because a lifted glass top is the most common way a patio table breaks. The four folding chairs have pinch points at the hinges, and fingers stay clear while a chair opens or closes. The set is for outdoor use on a level surface.
Three inches of foam, and the safe-sleep rule
The Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper is 3 inches thick and spot clean only; it does not go in a washing machine. Memory foam can carry a smell from its packaging; unroll the topper and let it air in a ventilated room before the first night. Soft bedding, including this topper and the comforters, is for children and adults, never for an infant's sleep space; the Consumer Product Safety Commission's safe-sleep guidance says a baby sleeps on a firm, flat surface with nothing soft in the crib. The comforter sets are machine washable on the cycle printed on the care label.
Sixty-five on the California warning label
Several listings carry a warning under California's Proposition 65 because the supplier's sheet names a listed chemical in the item: lead in the futon, the kids' table, and the compact refrigerator; wood dust from the chest and the nightstand during assembly; DEHP in the patio set; mercury in the bar stool components; BPA in the refrigerator. The warning is required by California law for any product that can expose a user to a listed chemical above a set level, and it is printed on the listing for every state, because the carton is the same. The warning does not mean the item is unsafe to use as directed. The state's own explanation is at P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Two people on every carton over sixty pounds
The Open-Shelf TV Stand weighs 60 pounds, and the desk, the chest, the futon, and the beds ship in cartons that one person should not carry up a stairway alone. Open the carton on the floor of the room where the piece will stand, lay out the parts against the parts list before the first screw, and follow the supplier's steps in order. The 4-Drawer Chest and the Nightstand need no power tools; a screwdriver and the included hex key are enough, and a drill driven hard can strip the composite board. Assemble the Convertible L-Shaped Desk and the beds with two people, because the panels have to be held in position while the fasteners go in.
Two places to report a safety incident
If an item breaks in use, catches fire, gives a shock, tips, or injures anyone, stop using it and write to contact@homuvo.com with the order number, the item, what happened, and photos. Homuvo answers within one business day, replaces or refunds the item under the Refund Policy, and passes the report to the supplier. You can also report the incident to the Consumer Product Safety Commission through SaferProducts.gov, where reports are public and reach the agency directly. Homuvo reports to the Commission itself where the law requires a seller to do so.
Two sources of recall news
Recalls of consumer products in the United States are published at cpsc.gov/Recalls. If a recall covers an item Homuvo has sold, Homuvo emails every customer who bought it, with the remedy the recall sets, within 2 business days of the recall notice, and takes the listing down the same day. A customer who learns of a recall first can write to the help desk, and Homuvo checks the item against the notice within one business day.
